Back in 2001, the founders saw a need for a solution to answer the question of what is in front of my vessel underwater right now. This real world issue has since been mitigated with their innovative Argos navigation sonar systems.

FarSounder Releases End User Training
The online End User Training for FarSounder’s Argos Systems has been released. It is the second in a series of training’s being released by FarSounder this year. The curriculum covers the technology, system operations, interpretation of the sonar data, and system maintenance. This training is free to all who are interested and recommended for all bridge crew and operators.

QPS Adds Direct FarSounder Integration to Qinsy
Quality Positioning Services (QPS), the experts in maritime geomatics software and services, has integrated FarSounder’s Argos Forward Looking Sonars (FLS) into their Qinsy survey software package. Argos sonar users are now able to display their FLS bathymetric data in the Qinsy platform along with the rest of the survey data they are capturing.
FarSounder on Largest Motor Yacht Built in Canada
FarSounder’s Argos 500 Forward Looking Sonar system is set to be fitted on the largest recreational motor yacht ever built in Canada. At 164-feet (50m), the groundbreaking Danzante Bay is being built by Crescent Custom Yachts near Vancouver. The vessel is slated to launch in 2021 and will be fitted with some of the most advanced navigation technology available.

The Rhode Island-based forward-looking sonar experts at FarSounder have unveiled their latest product in preparation for this year’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Set to make its official world launch during the show, which kicks off tomorrow on 30th October, the new sonar model forms part of the company’s navigation series: the Argos series and is called the Argos 350.
FarSounder Expands Field of View
FarSounder is increasing its navigation sonars’ capabilities by broadening the field of view to up to 120 degrees. Their series of forward looking sonars currently provide users a 90 degree field of view out to 500m and 60 degree field of view out to 1000m.
FarSounder Acquires Japanese Patent
FarSounder, the leader in 3D forward-looking sonar, is pleased to announce the issuance of their fifth patent. It was issued by the Japanese Patent Office, one of the largest in the world. This patent relates to their invention of integrated sonar devices and methods and is FarSounder's first issued in Japan.
Royal Netherlands Navy Vessels Fitted with FarSounder FLS
FarSounder’s Forward-Looking Sonar (FLS) is the latest in innovative maritime technology to be included on the Royal Netherlands Navy’s (RNLN) hydrographic survey vessels, the HNLMS Snellius (A802) and HNLMS Luymes (A803).
