FarSounder is pleased to announce a collaborative research project using an application of its 3D sonar technology to increase sustainability and benefit the commercial fishing industry. The main focus of the project is to assess pelagic fish species such as menhaden and herring. The technology currently used in many fishery surveys is suitable for sampling bottom-dwelling species but not well-suited for accurately assessing pelagic species.

FarSounder, Inc. has been awarded a contract to provide four complete FarSounder-1000 systems plus spare parts for the upgrade of four Paluma class hydrographic Survey Motor Launches operated by the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). Seismic Asia Pacific Pty. Ltd. of Salisbury, Australia will be responsible for the purchase of the equipment and assist with the systems integration. FarSounder Awarded TNO Fisheries Research Order

FarSounder is pleased to announce the award of an order from The Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research (TNO), for an advanced fisheries research project. This will be part of TNO's SOFIC (SOnar for FIsh Classification) project, a team effort being carried out between Dutch fishing company Jaczon B.V., from Scheveningen, TNO and FarSounder. The Netherlands Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality has assigned a scientific quota for this project.
