Before downloading a demo of our 3D forward looking
sonar technology, please take a moment to read the demo description and to let
us know a little about yourself. You can also download a manual for the demo
software here (1.1 MB).
Demo
Description:
This demo is an example of the type of information FarSounder is able to
produce ahead of a vessel for obstacle and collision avoidance. The demo contains
real data from a past cruise where the vessel is approaching a shallow
water pier wall in the Narragasett Bay (RI). The system used in this cruise
was an FS-3DT which has a 90 degree field of view out to about 1000 feet (330
meters) range as well as an extended range mode out to about 1/4 mile (440
meters) with a 60 degree field of view. In this demo, the system is configured
to alternate automatically between these two modes every ping.
Notice that the sea floor is mapped out to 8 water depths or more. After
that, in-water targets are still detected out to the full range of the system.
You can easily see both the outer and inner corners of the pier wall beyond
our water depth capability.
This demo is designed to show you the types of real-time 3D bottom maps ahead
of the vessel that FarSounder technology can produce. The actual software
provided with the FS-3 contains many more features and options designed to
increase user awareness.
Note:
This demo has been designed to work on Windows XP Pro.
Due to some graphics features, it will not run under earlier versions of Windows.
