FarSounder Adds Acoustics Classes to Training Program

FarSounder is pleased to announce that it has expanded its offering of educational classes by adding a highly requested Ocean Acoustics class to their schedule of training courses. Conducted by one of the company's senior sonar scientists, the class covers an introduction to ocean acoustics and the effects of sound on marine wildlife.

Commenting on the new class, Cheryl Zimmerman, CEO says; “Previous to date, these classes were only available if contracted for by an organization for a full group.” The class takes place over two days, either at the factory or on site at the customers location, and introduces students to the basics and fundamentals of sound propagation in water. It also covers the effects on hearing on marine life and the impacts that all noise has.

Continues Zimmerman; “With so much focus on the guardianship of our planet and resources, this class will help give a greater understanding of the challenges that face many of us in this industry and how product development can stay within environmentally sound guidelines.”
